The ACLU is back at it again. This time they are saying that a voluntary prayer before meals at the US Naval Academy is unconstitutional. Does it seem to anyone else that the ACLU is religiophobic? Okay, so there's not really a word "religiophobic" but you all know what I mean. They are so worried that someone's religious feelings might be hurt that they are trying to squelch any display of religion at all. It's almost as if they want to rewrite the First Amendment. In case it's been a while since you read the First Amendment, let me refresh your memory:
So, tell me, if Congress is not to make any law prophibiting the free exercise of religion, how is it that the Supreme Court can make a law that limits where and when we can pray? To say that no, there can't be a prayer at a high school graduation would be making a law prohibiting the free exercise of religion, wouldn't it? To say that no, there can't be a prayer before a sporting event would be making a law prohibiting the free exercise of religion, wouldn't it? To say that no, there can't be a voluntary prayer before meals at the US Naval Academy would be making a law prohibiting the free exercise of religion, wouldn't it? If you are a US citizen and it ticks you off that the ACLU is continuing to chip away at your right to pray, check out the American Center for Law and Justice, a Christian organization committed to doing their best to stop the ACLU's efforts to push biblical Christianity out the door. Don't let the ACLU and their religiophobia tell you what to believe and how you can practice your beliefs. Take a stand for your rights as a Christian. |
